How to Burn Perfectly
Long Strokes
Burn the artwork stroke by stroke, avoid excessively long strokes. When burning, keep the length of the long-stroke within 2 to 2.7 inches, and lift off the nib from the wood as the color fades. Allow the nib to heat up again, and apply the nib to the wood to continue the stroke.
Color of the Burn
Different types of wood with varying densities of material require different temperatures. Adjust the temperature setting to a higher value when the shade of the burn is too light. This station supports a temperature range of 482~1382℉ (250~750℃). We recommend setting the station at around 500-650°C for common wood materials. Or, if you’re burning on dense wood material, go for a higher temperature setting.
Shading
An overly-high temperature setting may result in a much darker shade than desired, and an overly-low temperature setting may result in a much lighter shade than desired. We recommend that you try out different temperature settings on practice/scrap wood to find the temperature that you’re most comfortable with (not too light, not too dark). Then, stick to this temperature and apply the strokes on the same spot multiple times to get a consistent shading experience.

I‘m starting out wood burning as a hobby, and my friend had recommended me this wood-burner. After trying different wood burning tools, I’d say it offers higher temperature than many of the wood burning pencils I’ve used in the past.
I was pretty skeptical seeing comments about this product not heating up, but I decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, this device burns even the densest wood pieces I have. Even my dad was amazed at how easy it was for me to get the color down to the wood, you just have to turn it up to a higher temperature. I mean around 550 to 700, depending on how dark you want the stroke to be.
This price is superb, and it would’ve be even better if they had a thicker tip type of wood burning pencil as well, wondering if they offer that as well. I often use both types of tools when I work.
What really stand up is that their customer service is top-notch. I thought they didn’t include the 20 wood burning tips as advertised. After contacting their customer support, I got a reply in just 2 hours, and they were very patient and the tips were inside a box.
Overall I think the product and the service for this purchase is reasonable, and I definitely recommend other people to give it a try.

Highly recommended for pyrography beginners! Do not waste your money on those plug in stick version ones. I have bought 3 different ones and none even come close to the quality of burn you can get out of these wire burners. I am a novice and was amazed by the quality of artwork I was able to produce with this new tool I had never used before. I found line drawings I liked online and I traced the outline on the wood and just embellished using the tool and my imagination! 90% is the tool and me. Super easy to use and unlike the stick tools, you can run this for hours and it stays cool in your hand. Just a few things to be aware of: - the temp on the dial is in Celsius. -Make sure the wire tip is all the way in before you tighten down the set screws otherwise it won’t heat properly and you will think the machine is not working right. -try to avoid working on pine wood if you are new to this art. The stool seat I included pictures of is pine and the pitch in the wood made a sticky mess on the tips that I had to constantly clean off. For someone new, this can be an unwanted issue. The soft wood also tends to burn inconsistently and it requires more control, but this tool made that all far easier to manage than the stick ones with solid screw type tips.
Bottom line, if you’re shopping around to find an entry level unit, don’t waste money on a stick, just buy this one. It works great. Now I cannot attest to the longevity of this unit as this is my first stool seat with it. I plan to make a bar set and will update this later with results... will this unit survive???

Ordered one and it died after a week. Exchanged it hoping that it was just a defective one. The replacement came within 4 days. Same thing less than a week and the second one died. So I wanted my money back. Sent it back as I should. Well the tracker says they recieved it 27 days ago and still havent gotten my refund and no way of getting ahold of them. Over all the product is junk and the customer service is worse. If I could give negative stars I would.

Im a beginner at this so When I first found this machine I thought I got very lucky for the price and etc. To be honest I didnt use it right away when it arrived. I had it for a few weeks until i decided it''s time to try it out. I was very excited to try it out. All seemed well for a while. Used it maybe no more than 20 times at best. I''ve only did extremely small projects. Things on beads and such. But now it''s not heating up for anything. The whole cord gets hot but the tip isn''t getting hot at all. It doesn''t make sense to me. Just when I started to get comfy with using it more. And looking at this now. My machine didn''t even come with the extras either. The woods, stencils, tweezers etc. Being that the return window is closed to me now I feel like I wasted my money. Maybe it''s just mine specifically. I took good care of it. Not sure why this happened. Buyers beware. Try it out right away so if it happens to fail like mines you''ll have the opportunity to return it in time.

First, I was impressed with the quality. Unit is solid, and both the rheostat dial and on/off switch feel significant, not cheap or flimsy. Second, it offers a lot of different tip options. I found this extremely helpful when burning different types of wood and different shapes. Third, I''ve discovered the heat options are important! Also due to different wood consistencies.
I preface all of this with the fact I''m not an artist, I just wanted to find a relaxing hobby. Pyrography checks all the boxes, and this unit makes it easy ... and fun. Highly recommend.

Pretty great for the price I have been using it now for about 2 weeks fairly steadily. You can''t really use it for long periods of time on high heat I''m pretty sure the description even mentions this but all in all shipping was quick everything was there and for the price everything was at the quality you would expect. Great for the amateur hobbyist or beginner. I have bought other models around the same price range and they always seem to burn out fairly quick so this one''s holding on pretty well.
