Description

A teen in rural Iowa buys an assault rifle at a country gun show. He has a score to settle. Several scores. He’s tired and he’s scared, but they are all going to pay. Every last one of them.
Cutter Williams takes us back to his childhood to share a story of growing up in the Midwest, on the farm and in the city, and to show the people and events which shaped the way he sees the world––what makes Cutter, Cutter.
Like all of us, Cutter’s memories are both sharp and fuzzy, warmed and cooled by the passing of time, and all emotionally formed. He introduces us to the large cast of characters, including his family, teachers, friends and enemies, who shared his early life and, for good or bad, molded him.
There are his parents, who constantly annoy him, except when he needs something; his siblings, who just constantly annoy him; and his teachers, from Sister Mary Margaret, also known as Witch Sister to Father Bouvier, the only honest and true religious figure he ever met. There''s his squad from elementary school which included Booger and Fat Jimmy and Dave the Brain and Sweet Willie and Red, the baseball playing, shoulder punching tomboy who became his first girlfriend. Then there are his high school classmates––Stone, Shawn, Alan, Scott, Chubbs and Pimps, collectively the yin and yang of his teens. And the girls–Nancy and Erica, the what-if girls. And Regan, the outsider who captivates them all. But most importantly, there’s Charlie. Cutter’s first best friend. This is Charlie''s story.
