Right off, it comes with a pretty nice metal case with good foam inside to keep everything in place and protected. Very organized inside. Very professional looking.

There is no way I can explain how heavy duty and well made the handle is. It''s one of those things, you can''t really appreciate it until you have it in your hands. Seriously, you will be impressed. I rarely glow so much about a product like this, but this is a prime example of, you get what you pay for. Don''t even know how to say it, it''s just amazing. High quality, hefty, sturdy, well machined, a thing of beauty. You will NOT find this in the low priced replacement handles available here. Not even close. The only one that comes close is the simple wood turning tools, and actually I really like their rubber handle. But even still not quite as nice as this one.

It does come with short and long handle "extensions", I doubt I will ever use the short handle, just to short for me. But that could be a matter of preference. The longer handle is the perfect length, just right if you ask me.

As far as the carbide tips, kind of important right? They are actually very sharp. I did not expect them to be as sharp as they are. Better than some other tips I have. They cut very well, very smoothly.

I have not had any trouble with them coming loose, as another reviewer mentioned. You can tighten them down pretty good. Although, I''ll be sure to update this if anything changes. They could be right.

My only slight negative in with this set is the fact that the bars will only fit this handle. So you can''t go buy extra handles easily. Actually I do not see them available here, which is a real shame. Not trying to be lazy, but I like everything ready to use, I would rather not be switching things out. Again, might be a preference. Would be interested in if you can get extra handles and how much.

Some might say it''s a tad expensive, and I kind of think that is right, BUT, you do get a fantastic set, it''s high quality, some times it''s worth it. I have quite a few Festool tools, even though they are pricey, I buy them because they are quality. All said, I would still recommend this without hesitation. I''ve used mostly cutting tools like skew chisels, and my other turning tools are "full-sized." This is my first foray into carbide scraping tools.

These tools come in a compact, easy-to-store, hard case. The cutting tools fit into a common handle, and there is a removeable extension for the handle. This is a flexible set up, and the tools work pretty well, given my "intermediate" level of skill.

Swapping the tools in and out of the handle is quick and easy, but it is not as convenient for me as having separate tools. Ordinarily, I''d pull out the tools I expect to use -- a couple of skews, gouge, parting tool, etc. -- and line them up near my lathe. It''s not unusual to switch back and forth among tools when turning a spindle.

With this setup, I have to remove the tool tips from the handle and insert a different one to make a change. Also, I can get a smoother finish with a sharp skew than I can with a scraping tool.

All-in-all, I''m happy with the design and performance of this tool, and I really appreciate the compact, easy storage. Helpful Report
