I keep multiple copies so that I''m able to loan them out and also have one to show passages from to my students in individual sessions. All of the Smart Girls'' Guides are really approachable, even to my lowest level readers and "toughest" girls, but this one in particular is great. 15 people found this helpful Helpful Report A Smart Girl's Guide: Worry: How to Feel Less Stressed and Have More Fun (Smart Girl's Guides)Cynthia Jacox4.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Light-hearted approach to challenging anxiety Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2018 Charming approach to helping girls that tend to be worry-warts. Be aware, content is most appropriate for girls 6-10. I purchased it for my 12-year old granddaughter and she felt it was too immature for her. 22 people found this helpful Helpful Report A Smart Girl's Guide: Worry: How to Feel Less Stressed and Have More Fun (Smart Girl's Guides)BaliThai5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Smart Girl guides to be helpful and written in a ... It seemed to describe my daughter exactly, and she really related to the descriptions and scenarios. The suggestions on how to manage worries, were spot on! She has begun to implement them right away - the easier ones at least. We have found most of the American Girls, Smart Girl guides to be helpful and written in a clear, non-judgmental way that my daughters really relate with. Highly recommended. 32 people found this helpful Helpful Report A Smart Girl's Guide: Worry: How to Feel Less Stressed and Have More Fun (Smart Girl's Guides)Michelle Laird5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Great book to help daughters as they grow and also help communication with your child Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2021 I have a hard time always saying the right things for my daughter as she grows up. This has been a great resource for putting her feelings into words and giving tangible skills for managing worry. Her school readings had simpler concepts about worry and negative self talk. It''s written for tweens and early teens, so some of the themes are not applicable yet (self-esteem, navigating friends), but she likes the book and asks to read it together. WE have 3 of these now, and whilst my 10YO and 8YO both say they''ve never read them for fear of admitting a problem, I''ve found them both secretly absorbed on several occasions. An important parenting thing for me. Sometimes not forcing the issue and providing the assistance is enough. My eldest is a worrier but wold never admit it. Nice to see a book that addresses the causes for this age group, and how to manage or accept things. The content is set out in a plain, well illustrated way that takes you through the problem, why it happens, how to manage it, and ways to cope. Some solid advice provided in a lovely, empathetic way. It wasn''t till they arrived and I was perusing that I realised these books were published by American Girl. If you have girls, they are the holy grail of 18 inch dolls. We have the cheaper version in our house BUT importantly that link made sure that my daughters trusted the content that little bit more. 2 people found this helpful Report A Smart Girl's Guide: Worry: How to Feel Less Stressed and Have More Fun (Smart Girl's Guides)A Thakar5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Well written Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 31, 2018 Love this range of books.
