CORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE PYROGRAPH TIPS

Step1--Loose The Screw

Here the top screw needs to exit more than 4mm, and the screw needs to exit this distance and inserts into the pen point.

Step2--Insert the Tip

The feet of the tip shall be inserted into the copper binding post for more than 8mm,until the feet of the pen point touches the bottom of the copper column.

Step3--Tighten The Screws

Tighten the screw with the screwdriver and tighten the feet of the pen point! It must be tightly closed; otherwise, the pen point won't be heated or its heating is abnormal or even sparks.

Step4--Wiping the pen tip

Wiping debris off the tip after use with a damp sponge will ensure maximum effectiveness for the next use and will allow the tip to cool down quickly for storage.

I do pyrography for my small business and bought this machine as an upgrade from my other burner.

PROs:
- Double wand. I love the fact that it is a double wand. It offers flexibility between 2 different tips without having to constantly change a tip between 2 if you are working. You can simply flip a switch and move between the 2 very easily.
- Adjustable temp. Woods burn at different temps. So being able to simply dial in the temp to get the desired burn is very useful. This is also a time saver so you do not have to go over the same lines multiple times to get the burn you want.
- Heats up and cools down fast. It only takes a few seconds for the tips to become hot. This is a mandatory plus when working with multiple items or switching between wands. This is also a time saver.

CONs:
- The wand holders are made of plastic. The first thing I noticed when I received the item was that the wand holders are plastic. I questioned this as this IS a tool that gets hot and generally melts plastic. I used it once or twice and promptly melted one of the holders. Needless to say I replaced them.
- The tool gets HOT. The tip obviously gets hot, but the wand itself gets hot. I use wood that needs to be burned at a higher temperature, and the wand itself gets VERY hot. I have gotten blisters. I tried numerous things (as suggested by other pyrographers: heat resistant finger guards, hair stylist gloves, leather wrapped around the wand with sport tape). It still gets VERY hot.

Which brings me to the attached picture. It got so hot it MELTED THE WAND ITSELF. No need to go into a big explanation about how disturbing and unsafe that is.

I will say that the machine works. It did the job I needed it to do. Unfortunately it is not durable and not made for extended use.
