Nope. I key up the transmitter to start talking, and it goes ker-FLOP.

I eventually found my linear MCP power supply, which is a 6 amp power supply, and it works fine with my radio. I can transmit at full power without a problem. So it''s clear that this power supply doesn''t even provide 6 amps of power, nevermind the advertised 12 amps of power. It''s a total fraud, in other words. When using my radio, other listeners complained about a 60 Hz Hum in the background. I literally spent weeks trying to figure out the source, everything from using a power strip, to grounding issues, to a freezer nearby. Nothing would get rid of the hum. One night, some old guy on the net said he was pretty sure that it was the power supply. Well, I took a giant risk and purchased a different brand at a higher cost. I got it, hooked it up, and voila, the hum was gone. I wanted to send this unit back for a refund, but I had already gone past the refund availability date. 4/12/21 The power supply is going bad. It''s not 13.8V anymore but 12.0V. The load regulation is 6% and not the advertised 0.01%. It drops to ~11.4V when I''m transmitting. I can''t find any warranty. I found the maker. They said the big voltage drop is trypical. I''ll steer away from this brand since they have false advertising.
