The main antagonist even had a monologue outlining his evil plans while the main character was listening in from the heating ducts above, (then of course she had to drop an ax in the vent, alerting the evil mastermind that someone was listening in...) The main character is supposed to be a sarcastic, witty, smart-talking female but her one liners are not really funny or witty or all that smart. The teenaged ninja is a hoot, though.

But again, it grows on you. If you allow yourself to pretend you are watching a hokey, low budget, B-rated horror movie from the 70''s, you will enjoy this book. Don''t try to put too much thought into it, and you will giggle a bit and not regret buying it. As bad as this review sounds, I am looking forward to the next book that comes out.
