See more New author Jordan Moore steps onto the Trivia stage with a nod to providing interesting reading material while passing the time at home, In this easy to read (and absorb) book, Jordan offers a cascade of facts that provide not only entertainment but also educational topics – not only for kids but for everyone who is curious!

Providing an overview of the topics of interest in this book, Jordan outlines his content in the Introduction – ‘The world is full of interesting things just waiting to be discovered…this book has precisely 1,272 facts, covering everything from the sun and the moon in outer space to the animals and plants here on earth – plus food and drink, film and TV, words and languages, sports and games, ad a lot more besides! Some of these facts are funny. Some of these facts are strange. Some of them are surprising. But all of them are SUPER INTERESTING!’ And if that tasty intro doesn’t convince you to explore this fascinating book, add in facts about mythology, kings and queens, the human body, the weather, and weird words that will amaze!

Not only is the book entertaining – it is also very instructive. Jordan presents his facts in categories, each fact is short in length and offers a check box to let you know you’ve absorbed that one, and moves along at a pace that is entirely up to each reader. For those who are simply looking for solid entertaining reading to while away the hours, welcome to a field expert! Highly recommended!

I learned some information in this book that I did not know before reading this book. Some of the interesting information mentioned in this book include the following information: Flies can''t hear their own buzz. Leotards are named after a French trapeze artist named Jules Leotard. Lemons float in water, but limes sink. Half of the world''s orange juice comes from Brazil. The German city of Hamburg has 2,300 bridges. 95% of the universe is invisible because it is made of mysterious dark matter and dark energy that does not interact with light. The year 46 BCE had 445 days. Some other sources outside of this book claim the following for the reasons why: Julius Caesar added three extra intercalary months to recalibrate the calendar in preparation for his calendar reform, which went into effect in 45 BCE. This year therefore had 445 days and was nicknamed the year of confusion and serves as the longest recorded calendar year in human history. The actual planetary orbit-year remained the same. 23 people found this helpful Helpful Report Leonor Manresa5.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Interesting facts Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 9, 2022 My nephew cannot put it down. In the ‘Fantastic food’ section the book claims “the fresher an egg is, the higher it will float” “bad eggs tend to sink” this is actually the other way around. Fresh eggs sink as the density of the egg yolk/white give it enough mass to sink, but as the egg decomposes, some of this mass is changed into gas and escapes (as eggs are porous), and therefore decreases the mass which causes them to float. So now I’m wondering what other facts may have been incorrect. If you’re going to write a book of facts - at least make sure they are correct?! 58 people found this helpful Report sunshine4.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase FACTS BOOK FOR SMART KIDS Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on November 19, 2022 Bought for my Granddaughter.
