Are Sunco LED Wall Packs an HID replacement?

Yes, these wall packs offer a low wattage alternative to HID lights with a 400W-800W equivalency, depending on the wall pack selected. LED Wall Packs also do not require a ballast so you can avoid costly ballast replacement. They are LED replacements for high pressure sodium wall packs, fluorescent wall packs, and metal halide fixtures. Our wall lights feature a high lumen count for bright light with no degradation. They also provide instantaneously light.

Are Sunco LED Wall Packs waterproof? Where can I use them?

Yes, the IP65 rating and airtight enclosure are suitable for wet rated areas such as for building exteriors, paths/street/alley/garage, warehouses, overnight security lighting, or as overhead door lighting for entrances. Great for walkways that require light at varied height levels. Do not submerge these light fixtures.

What about heat dissipation?

Our LED Wall Packs generate a low amount of heat. This is because of the integrated LEDs turn most of their energy into light instead of energy wasted as heat like more traditional fixtures.

What about maintenance?

These LED Wall Packs are integrated, which means the LEDs are included inside the fixture. There is no need to replace a lamp during the fixture’s lifetime.

I''ve purchased four of these in the last 18 months and I''ve already had to replace two of them. The drivers tend to go bad as other reviewers have stated. (side note, if anyone has a link to replacement drivers that work in this light, I would love that info!)

The first time I contacted warranty service, they wanted the light shipped back at my expense because I was outside of the 45 day window. When I read the website now, they promise return shipping up to a year, so I''m not sure if that is a recent change. To avoid the hassle of returning and leaving a hole in the wall while I waited, I went ahead and placed another order and returned the bad one on the same order through Amazon.

The second time I contacted warranty service, they simply wanted a copy of the invoice and a picture of the light "not working." They immediately shipped me a replacement, sent me tracking, and did not ask for the non-functioning product to be returned to them.

Going forward, I hope the durability of the drivers improves. Also, I would be happy with just a replacement driver as they are super easy to install - 2 minutes tops. If you can install the light to begin with, the driver alone is simple - much simpler than taking the bad light down and installing a new one. It would save them money as well - win/win!

I would give only 3 stars based on good performance but poor reliability. There is a rubber gasket behind the unit that is quite hard to compress so you almost need to get a recessed junction box In behind it so you can screw down to it and compress the gasket. Then you can use the three screw holes to mount it to the siding or concrete or brick. I didn''t have a junction box so I just screwed it to the siding and added washers till it was flat.
