Bottom line is it doesn''t wood burn anything. This yellow ink in the pink turns black when you apply heat. It bleeds and looks just like a black sharpie marker when your done. So disappointed in this product. I read mixed reviews and thought maybe they didn''t do something right. Wish I had listened to them a complete waste of money. 4 people found this helpful Helpful Report Rachel Michelson1.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Looks like black marker Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2019 This product was a disappointment. It is too dark and looks nothing like a wood burned effect..
It appears black. Terrible product. Not happy.
9 people found this helpful Helpful Report LadyJamelle1.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Waste of money Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2020 The ink changes color, but that’s about all. The art doesn’t resemble wood burning at all! Save your money and buy a wood burner. 9 people found this helpful Helpful Report Sarah Elliott2.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Don’t do it. Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2019 The pen is easy to use, but the liquid runs, and spreads too easily making it near impossible to use a stencil. AND, it doesn’t give that crisp brown look, it looks like I drew with a black marker. 7 people found this helpful Helpful Report Samantha Jones1.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Save your money. See more If you are expecting an effect just like actual woodburning, this isn’t it. With some practice though, you can get a decent look that maybe looks a little more like stain than burn but could certainly make some cool gifts. This one was done with a stencil made of adhesive vinyl. I made sure that all of the edges were stuck down well, colored in with the pen and wiped down as I went with a paper towel (keeping it more dry decreases bleeding) and I put it in my heat press on around 275deg for 30 seconds, but definitely play with the time to find what works best for you. I wanted a deep brown color but not black. One person found this helpful Helpful Report Admiral Buck1.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase It did not work as claimed! The write-up was very inviting, so I wanted to give it a try. Just let me mention first that I am an accomplished woodburning artist having sold many of my work in shows and exhibits in the past five years.
The pen arrived earlier today, but I didn’t get a chance to try it until a couple of hours ago.
I shook it up real good as the instruction on the pen aid to do. Then I gently pushed the tip a few times to get the liquid to saturate the tip. The problem was, when the liquid started to fill the tip, it didn’t stop. It flowed out as I started to apply it to the wood. I wrote ESWN in caps and the pen oozed out on the letters just like a tube of toothpaste would!
I waited and waited for the liquid to dry out so I can apply the heat gun.
Most disappointing!
I am sending this feedback to the seller, hoping they would allow a return and refund, as it definitely did not work – as advertised – for me.
Helpful Report natalie3.0 out of 5 starsVerified Purchase Picture is deceptive Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2021 I looked at about 50 pens like this when placing my order, and picked this one for the price; thinking it was two pens due to the main picture showing TWO! Pretty disappointed in the price now that it has arrived and there was only one in the package. Helpful Report
