I think it is this unusual mix of traditional and online format that appeals to both young and old. I also really enjoy this translation. It is different enough from the NIV and KJV (which I am used to) that I am not just breezing over scriptures that are familiar to me - but am actually reexamining them. I wasn''t keen on only 2 versions available with the app KJV and NLT, but have used the NLT before so decided it would be worth the try. I purchased the Leatherlike Aurora Cranberry, Indexed, Large Print. The price is right! I love the color! I love the Large Print more than the Giant print! I love that it''s indexed!

A nice surprise is the additional 14 charts in the back, on heavier paper. Not just the usual maps of travels, but also charts I''d seen in the app, like Israel''s annual calendar, with feasts, a visual of the book of Psalms by topics, length, etc; A very unique chart of the prophets not only in a timeline, but it shows their lifespan, and the size of their prophecy (# words).

All the charts have unique visuals and text, but one especially helpful is of the Prophecies of the Messiah, where they occurred in the OT and where they are fulfilled in the NT.

So I recommend you buy this excellent bible and then leave the Amazon store and look elsewhere to access the superb additional material.
