The only minor downside to this is the bottom is not sealed and it could potentially allow bugs to get up underneath and hover or gather on the light. That hasn''t been an issue of mine yet but it could potentially be one. If it becomes an issue with me or someone else I would simply take a piece of foam rubber cut it at the angles that needs to be and then possibly glue a piece of aluminum foil on top so you could plug up the bottom hole that yet be able to remove it easily when you need to replace the light bulb. I''m a firm believer in LEDs and they''re pretty inexpensive now and don''t seem to put off really that much heat that they would melt foam especially with the aluminum glued on top.
