Le Creuset stockpots can be used with all heat sources, including induction. For efficient and safe boiling, always use a burner similar in size to the base of the stockpot.
Tools to use
We encourage you to use an oven mitt or silicone Cool Tool to avoid burns or injuries.
Cleaning and care
Do not bang a stockpot down onto a stove’s surface or work surface. Repeated banging may damage the exterior enamel.
For efficient and safe boiling, always use a burner similar in size to the base of the stockpot.
Do not place a stockpot on a heat source without having liquid in the pot. Do not allow a stockpot to boil dry.
Never place a stockpot in the dishwasher. To clean, simply hand-wash the stockpot with hot, soapy water. Rinse well, and dry thoroughly. Do not submerge stockpots in water – the water may become trapped inside the vessel and can lead to rusting.

The size of this pot is perfect for a variety of foods like sauces or even rice. The top that’s included and the handles on the side really sets this pot apart from others. The quality of this pot is good, it’s sturdy and has a little weight. It heats up quickly and evenly. The measurements on the inside are so helpful. It was also very easy to clean.

I never got around to returning this very expensive stock pot, but it still really bothers me whenever I think about it. After the first time I used it to boil water for a spaghetti dinner, the outside looked like the enamel melted off the bottom, exposing the black metal. Since then, everything I cook sticks and burns on the inside of the pan, where the enamel melted on the outside. This has rendered the stock pot useless for the main reason I purchased it. Soups and spaghetti sauce. This has happened to NONE of my other much cheaper pots. And the pot has never been stored in the cabinet. It is always been stove top or on the shelf.

After 10 years my old Le Creuset enameled stock pot was too worn at the bottom to continue using. I''ve ordered 3 identical 8 qt Palm colors and every time a new one arrives it has chipped enamel inside the lid, sharp metal edges, uneven paint, bubbled steel, or some other issue. Today''s actually arrived with RUST on the metal of the pot in addition to some of the aforementioned issues. I''d expect these at the outlet (aside from the rust) but I''ve never seen Le Creuset products look like this. Quality control? I''ve been a loyal LC cook but I can''t continue buying from this brand with this awful quality.

You guys! I’m so sad about this purchase. We were gifted a blue Le Creuset pot a few years back and it has been our go to soup pot. When it started to show signs of wear we didn’t think twice about buying another. We have moved to Mexico and I was so excited to have a big pot to cook all the things! We were able to come back to the States to pick it up to bring it to Mexico and the second time we used it I set it on the burner and all of a sudden a huge POP! and multiple spots of enamel broke off and flew into the air. So bummed.

This is not a high-quality item. Its cheap, thin metal which easily burns stuff onto the bottom no matter how low the heat. I''ve returned mine for a refund. Shocking that its got the Le Creuset name in it. See photo; this will be your constant result.

The very first time I went to use it, the bottom of the pan cracked and split, shooting pieces of it up at my face - honestly could have gone straight in my eye if I hadn''t moved quickly. This product is a safety hazard and the face that I can''t return it is beyond upsetting. I have several other Le Creuset and have been cooking for 20 years and never once had this issue.

I have invested thousands in Le Creuset cookware and have generally been happy with it. I purchased the 12-quart stock pot twice: the first time was less than two years ago at a Le Creuset store and the most recent time was about two months ago from Amazon. This recent purchase was for two reasons: 1) I wanted a discontinued color that was available through an Amazon vendor and 2) I had returned my original pot to Le Creuset because it had pitted in multiple places on the outside and was pitting in the same places on the inside and was rusting. A definite defective item, given that I only boil water on a gas stove in this pot for family pasta dinners.
Le Creuset is supposed to stand behind the quality of their products and what I expected to receive back from them was the identical item in either my first or second color choice or something of similar value if the 12 quart is no longer available. What I got in return was a 6-quart stock pot. I have sent an email to Le Creuset asking essentially "Seriously? What gives?" but have yet to receive a reply.
So "for now" I''m giving this item three generous stars and am thankful I purchased my new 12 quart from Amazon. I''m hoping it holds up better than the last one did and am waiting to see what Le Creuset does. Stay tuned! Hopefully I will come back with two thumbs up for Le Creuset''s service rather than two thumbs down....

My wife and I have been huge fans of Le Creuset pots and pans for a great many years because of their quality and durability.
We were therefore very disappointed to discover the poor quality and very cheap durability of this pot. The steel is quite thin and the enamel is very brittle. One light tap on the bottom rim or sides and the enamel chips off both the outside and inside of the pot. Which of course leads to the exposed metal corroding in a very short time. Which then renders the pot unusable.
The chrome bead around the lid and pot brim are very poorly done. The seam where the bead ring joins is a very noticeable line/bump in the ring. After a few uses the ring weld began to separate.
The welded handles are very poorly done. The seam where they join the body of the pot flexes if the pot is heavily loaded. This results in spiderweb cracks in the enamel, which leads to the enamel eventually flaking off. Which then leads to corrosion, which renders the pot unusable.
I strongly suspect Le Creuset outsourced the manufacturing of these pots to a factory with low priority regarding quality control.
When I contacted Le Creuset customer support they said they would "allow" me to ship this back to them at my expense so they could "evaluate" whether or not I had mistreated the pot.
Shame on you Le Creuset for the harm you have done to your previously good name.
