First, my driveway is .3 miles long over a hill. Once I turn off the main road, I can see my front yard easily. I can also see through the parking area of my old pole barn.
The light emitted - is not just downwards as it appears in pictures. It shoots outwards at 180 degrees for roughly 100 ft. (I am rural with only one street light at .35 miles away). It also shoots upwards and illuminates the inner canopy of an old oak tree over my house.
Second, I chose this light for brightness and auto on/off. I work nights. I hate coming home and wondering what critter is making noises (possum, racoons, armadillos, coyotes, cows or my cats). This light turns on and off when I need it. It also seems to keep the undesirables away from my house. The cows and cats appear to like it.
Third - a con to some, a positive to me. The instructions said to remove two screws to remove the reflector plate. In my model, there were no screws and the reflector plate was spot welded to the front housing. This seemed much easier to me. All I had to do was match modern casings to old 80s outlet boxes (for some, consult electrician).

So, I installed it about 12ft. off the ground under the eve of the house and it gave me the light spread I was looking for. It was easy to install but you need to know at least basic electrical installation skills. I replaced a 100 watt High Pressure Sodium wall pack with this this JJC fixture. Now I won''t be known as the " guy that lives where the orange light is". The materials used to produce this fixture are of high quality parts. It''s light in weight but yet very sturdy all the way around. As a person in the private security field, there is nothing better than a well lid area that has been proven to be a deterrent to criminal behavior. Having worked in the lighting fixture and electrical supply back in the 80''s and 90''s it is mind blowing the impact that LED lighting has made in the world. It is energy saving, more lumens or light output with a small amount of watts plus inexpensive.
