See more I was a little worried to buy Chinese receptacles however they seem to be well made and heavier duty than the receptacles I purchased at the local hardware store. These particular receptacles will allow you to strip up to 12 gauge wire and slide right in the back and then screw the screw down tight and they each receptacle is good for 20 amps instead of 15 amps. It made my wiring project a lot easier the old receptacles you had to have a little stool and push in the back to make it release the wires so they were pain remove and then when I try to put the new ones on I found the new receptacles at hardware store are only for 14 gauge wire and not for 12 gauge. So I was very excited when I got these receptacles of found they would wire up straight to 12 gauge very easily easy to remove easy to install no fooling around with special tools all you need is a screwdriver and something to strip wire. Imagine my surprise when I found that Bosch had supplied an electrical cord and plug designed for German electrical outlets. It surprised Best Buy too.

The cord could not be replaced and so that meant the wall socket had to be. Astonishingly, my local Lowe''s and Home Depot did not carry what was needed - this item - and I was not about to pay an electrician to solve what should not have been my problem. Ordered these items (had to get a box of them) and when they arrived it was a very easy installation. I''ve done 110V work before.

I kept the others and have begun replacing some of the other wall sockets with them. Plugs designed for the USA will fit these as well. The mounting screw that holds them to the junction box are poor quality metal - the screw head strips out in under five turns when encountering even the slightest resistance. The wire connection points don''t inspire confidence when turning them down, and the overall feel of the outlet is light, cheap, and poorly built. While installing one outlet, the entire face plate assembly detached from outlet body. I removed the three outlets I had installed and threw them in the trash.
