So that was exciting. I chose the warm yellowish LED because it is supposed to be the least attractive to bugs. Only time will tell if that is true. I wish they came with a couple extra clips, if I had dropped any into the canal I would’ve been SOL. That didn’t happen, but a few extra clips would have been nice. I used four clips per side.
Hopefully they will last a while, they’ll be outside in Florida, I’ll keep them up year round. The look was great but after each rain storm a different set quit working until I was down to only one working set within a month of use. I finally threw them all out and bought 2 of the 130 feet rolls of these LED rope lights plus a 50 foot roll and a bag of 100 plastic screw in hangers. It took longer to remove the old lights and string ties than to install these vinyl ropes using the non supplied hangers. I cut one set to split into two directions with ease and used one set in full to cover a longer section. They are much sturdier than exposed copper wire fairy lights and much easier to install. They are much brighter and are not dimmable but the warm white is a good look and they are weather proof. I have seen reviews saying others have dimmed them with LED dimmers but the manufacturer warns that it will reduce use life because they were not designed for dimming. Using a dual receptacle Woods waterproof programable timer on each set gives me control over on and off times and a Woods remote switch will be used on the 50 light set for a hotbtub area. I love that they have fused direct 110V plugs to protect them but run on 12 volts. They don''t have the gimmicky fragile control modules for special effects that I don''t need or want.

I would highly recommend these but suggest dumping the currently supplied install clips and string ties and just buy a bag of the flexible screw on loop hangers for under $10 which make a sturdier connection, have longer screws to hold in place and are much quicker to use. The only improvement I would suggest is to make a dimmable version option for more control over brightness and to upgrade the hangers with a loop type with longer scews. That would make them 5 stars.
UPDATE
After a full year of use for 6 hours every night not one single bulb has quit working or gone dim and absolutely no issues at all.
